We are now including a retinal scan of the back of the eye in our Private eye examination. Known as the OCT (optical coherence tomographer), the machine uses light to image different layers that make up the back of the eye to give a more detailed cross-sectional view of the eye. It allows both an instant and early diagnosis of a number of common ocular conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma and vascular problems. The retinal scan gives the Optometrist an invaluable ongoing record of the health and condition of the eyes. It is also available as an upgrade to the NHS funded exam for an additional fee and is very much recommended by our Optometrists.

Ask us about the retinal scan and we will be happy to discuss its benefits in more detail.
