Contact lenses are now more comfortable than ever and are available for a broad range of prescriptions.

Specialist contact lens practice

As an independent practice we have the freedom to fit and supply an extensive range of contact lenses to suit your needs and lifestyle. You may want to be less dependent on your spectacles, use contact lenses for sport or simply want to wear sunglasses during summer. Perhaps you have complex vision requirements due to corneal disease or following surgery and find spectacles don’t provide you with the quality of vision. With the varied array of contact lenses now available we are now able to offer a solution to suit your needs.

Contact lens appointments

During a contact lens appointment we assess how the contact lenses fit on the front of the front of your eye, the vision in your lenses and the health of the front surface of your eye during and after lens wear. If you are interested in contact lens as a form of vision correction we would be happy to arrange an appointment with our contact lens practitioner who will discuss your individual needs and recommend the best lens option for you.

Specialist Lenses

Patients with certain eye conditions such as keratoconus, complex prescriptions or severe dry eye not only want to be able to have the freedom of wearing contact lenses but can often benefit from much better quality of vision, compared to their spectacles. These situations often require a specialist lens and such lenses benefit from the time and experienced practitioners to fit them.

Scotts eyecare plan

Our Eyecare Plan allows you to pay for your contact lenses via direct debit.

The lenses can be posted to your home address, if you wear monthly contact lenses and require solutions these can be collected from the practice and are also included in your plan.

We will ensure you receive the highest level of eyecare and your plan will include the following benefits

So how do we decide on a contact lens for you?

The majority of lenses fitted today are soft lenses made from silicone gel material combined with water to create ultra comfortable lenses. There are a number of different options depending on your wearing schedule and vision needs such as;
Daily Disposable Lenses

These are worn once and then disposed of. These provide the convenience and freshness of a new lens everyday without the need for cleaning products.

Reuseable lenses

These are worn, cleaned and reused for a recommended period of time, usually two weeks or a month. These lenses are available in a wider range of prescriptions compared to daily disposable lenses.

Rigid Gas Permeable lenses (RGP)

These lenses are bespoke and allow the flexibility to modify lens parameters to best suit your needs. We recommend replacing these on an annual basis.
